Chi uscì con James Francis Edward Keith?

The Honourable James Francis Edward Keith (Peterhead, 11 giugno 1696 – Hochkirch, 14 ottobre 1758) è stato un generale scozzese che servì come feldmaresciallo nell'esercito prussiano.

Fervente giacobita, partecipò attivamente al fallito tentativo di restaurazione della dinastia Stuart. In seguito fuggì in Europa dove dimorò in Francia e Spagna, entrando come effettivo nell'esercito spagnolo prima e in quello russo poi. Partecipò alla guerra anglo-spagnola del 1727-29 e a quella russo svedese del 1741-43, ed in quest'ultima si distinte nella campagna di conquista della Finlandia, diventandone il viceré. Fu coinvolto nel colpo di Stato che portò al trono Elisabetta di Russia. Successivamente entrò nell'esercito prussiano sotto Federico II di Prussia e si distinse in diverse campagne militari; morì in battaglia a Hochkirch, durante la Guerra dei Sette Anni

Eva Merthen (1723 – 15 October 1811), known as "The Duchess of Finland", was a Finnish woman known for her relationship with the General James Keith during the Russian occupation of the Swedish province of Finland during the Russo-Swedish War (1741–1743). She is the subject of the novel "Hertiginnan av Finland" (1850) by Zacharias Topelius.
