Ahmed I (Ottoman Turkish: احمد اول Aḥmed-i evvel; Turkish: I. Ahmed; 18 April 1590 – 22 November 1617) was the sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1603 to 1617. Ahmed's reign is noteworthy for marking the first breach in the Ottoman tradition of royal fratricide; henceforth, Ottoman rulers would no longer systematically execute their brothers upon accession to the throne. He is also well known for his construction of the Blue Mosque, one of the most famous mosques in Turkey.

Mahfiruz (? — avant 1618, probablement vers 1610 au plus tard) est une concubine du sultan ottoman Ahmet Ier et la mère du sultan Osman II.
Avec la naissance d'Osman — le premier-né du souverain — Ahmet Ier devint le plus jeune sultan ottoman à devenir père, et Osman fut le premier prince aîné à naître dans la capitale de l'Empire Ottoman, Constantinople.

Mahpeyker Kösem Sultan (in turco ottomano كوسم ماه پيكر سلطان, lett. "viso di luna" e "leader"; Tinos, 1590 circa – Costantinopoli, 2 settembre 1651) è stata una delle donne più potenti della storia ottomana come consorte del sultano Ahmed I, madre e reggente dei sultani Murad IV e Ibrahim I e nonna e reggente del sultano Mehmed IV, fino alla sua morte per mano di Turhan Sultan, madre di Mehmed.
